EPISODE 15 – AAAAAHHHH!!!!! STOP!!!!!!

23 Dec

Before the podcast notes, a more somber note – following is a list of charities to support survivors of the Sandy Hook tragedy. Podcast notes below.

These charities collect various crafty items:

Snowflakes for Sandy Hook – When the children of Sandy Hook Elementary go back to school, the National Parent Teacher Association wants them to be greeted by a winter wonderland. You and your child can help welcome the students back to school, which will be in a new building, by making unique snowflakes!

Kissing Mittens Project – A children’s book about separation is being sent to the kids in Newtown, and organizers need your help share its message. The book is called “The Kissing Hand.” They need your help to knit mittens with hearts on them, so the kids can have a physical reminder of how much they’re loved.

600 monsters strong – The 600 Monsters Strong Foundation” strives to bring monster-friends for children affected by gun violence and other traumatic situations through the generosity of crafters worldwide.

Stuffed animals for Sandy Hook – This group is for people interested in knitting or crocheting some stuffed animals or other small items of love for Sandy Hook survivors…including children, parents and teachers.

Comfort Shawls for Newtown – Knitting for and to comfort the fractured community of Newtown, Connecticut

A wallhanging of Healing for Newtown – Please join us in knitting squares that will be seamed together to make a Wallhanging of Healing to be sent to the suffering community of Newtown. Thank you!

Knitters for Newtown – Join us in our efforts to raise $10,000 and knit 26 blankets for the families who lost a loved one at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT.

Project Linus – The vice president of Bloomington-based Project Linus began contacting chapters of the organization, which makes and distributes handmade blankets and afghans to help children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.
